How it works 

1. Open Excel2Word in your Word document

2. Select your Excel workbook containing charts

3. Charts appear in the instance list alongside tables and cells, each  with an icon showing the chart type
   Insert charts into your document with the same familiar workflow

4. When Excel data changes, a badge indicates pending updates

5. Click to synchronize—your chart updates while preserving its position  and formatting

What chart types are supported

Excel2Word supports all standard Excel chart types: bar, line, pie, area, scatter, waterfall, funnel, treemap, and more. Each chart type has its own icon in the instance list, making it easy to find what you need.

Redesigned filter and sort

With charts joining tables and cells, we've redesigned the instance list controls. Toggle buttons let you filter by type at a glance—active filters appear solid, inactive ones are muted. Sorting options help you find items with pending changes quickly. It's a small change that makes a big difference when working with dozens of named ranges.

Reports go through many revisions. Data changes. Deadlines compress. The last thing you need is to manually update charts—or worse, discover a chart shows outdated numbers after the report has been shared.
