# "Upload Error" in Drafts Word
## What to do when a report won't upload from Drafts Word.
**Applies to:** Drafts Word
### What you see
The upload fails with one of these messages:
- Your Word document may contain an element that isn't compatible with Wrepit's software.
- An unknown error occurred while uploading the document.
### Why this happens
**"…an element that isn't compatible…"**: Wrepit couldn't convert something in your document. This is usually a special element, for example an embedded object, an unusual field or a copied-in element from another program.
**"An unknown error occurred…"**: Something went wrong during the upload that we couldn't identify, often a temporary problem.
### How to fix it
**If the message says "unknown error":**
1. Wait a few minutes and try the upload again.
2. Save the document, close Word, open it again and retry.
**If the message says "an element that isn't compatible":**
1. Think about what has changed since the last successful upload, for example new tables, images, text boxes or content pasted in from other files.
2. If you can find the element, try removing it (or pasting it again as plain text) and upload again.
3. If you can't find it, contact support.
