Transfer ownership of a Wrepit workspace
When current workspace owners leave, you can transfer ownership and access rights to new users to ensure continuity. This article explains how to hand over ownership and optionally clean up content during the transition.
Before you start
-
Make sure the new owner has access to the workspace
-
The new owner must be able to sign in at the Wrepit portal
How to transfer workspace ownership
-
Invite the new user to the workspace.
-
Sign in to the Wrepit portal and open Workspace Settings → People.
-
Find the new user in the list.
-
Assign the Owner role.
-
Confirm that the new owner can access all publications, including older ones.
Once assigned, the new user has full ownership rights.
Assign additional roles (optional)
-
Assign the Publisher role to users who need to publish reports.
-
Publishers do not need to be workspace owners.
Clean up before removing old owners (optional)
To reduce clutter for new owners:
-
Departing users can delete their draft publications from each publication they own.
-
This step is optional but recommended.
Remove departing users
After ownership has been transferred and any cleanup is done:
-
Go to Workspace Settings → People.
-
Remove the departing users from the workspace.
Wrepit will run internal cleanup routines later to fully remove those users from the system.
