How do I get a continuous highlight column for tables?
Enable Improve table highlight column design in Workspace Settings → Beta to fix white gaps in highlighted columns.
If you see small white gaps inside your highlight columns, this guide explains how to fix it.
Solution: Enable the beta feature
Note: You must have Owner access to change this setting.
1. Go to Workspace Settings.
2. Open the Beta tab.
3. Enable Improve table highlight column design.
What this beta feature changes
Enabling this setting introduces a few improvements to table rendering:
- New “Description” design setting
You will get a new table design option called Description.
This lets you style description rows separately from the rest of the table. - White gaps removed
Small white gaps in highlight columns will disappear and be replaced with the highlight column’s background color. - Description row merge behavior updated
Previously, all cells in a description row were merged automatically.
With this feature enabled, description rows will follow the merge settings you originally applied in Excel or Word when preparing the table.
Important: Re-upload required
After enabling the beta feature, you must re-upload the report for the changes to apply.
Reports uploaded before enabling the feature will not be affected.
Beta note
This is a beta feature. It has been thoroughly tested, but we don’t recommend enabling it right before publishing a report. Turn it on early enough to review the results and ensure everything looks correct.
