Duplicate user

What happened?

You signed in to Wrepit with a new Microsoft account, but your email address matches an existing Wrepit user. This is not common, but occurs in the following scenarios:

  1. Your organization migrated to a new Microsoft tenant.
  2. You left and rejoined your organization, receiving a new Microsoft account
  3. You joined an organization where someone else previously held the exact same email as you.

What you'll experience

Workspace access: You'll automatically receive invitations to all workspaces your email address was invited to.

Publications: Your previously published reports are not transferred to your new account. This is a security measure in place due to scenario 3 described above.

Next steps

Contact Wrepit support to transfer ownership of your publications from your old account to your new account. Include:

  • Your email address
  • Are you the same person as the previous owner of the email?
    • If yes, shall we transfer all your old publications to your new account?
    • If no, is there another user we should transfer old publications to? We will default to your Workspace's owner.
  • When the Microsoft account change occurred

For workspace owners

If multiple users in your organization are affected by a Microsoft tenant migration:

  1. Notify Wrepit support before the migration
  2. Provide a list of affected users (include emails)
  3. After the migration, tell your users to sign in to the Wrepit portal to initiate the duplication. Then send the list of users to Wrepit, with instructions about what Wrepit should do with existing publications and the old user accounts. Wrepit will default to transferring publications to the new, duplicate users and delete the old user account.

Security note: Workspace invitations are tied to email addresses. Always remove users who no longer need access to prevent unauthorized access if their email address is reassigned.
